October 4th was my first day at school; it was a Wednesday. From that day my week changed; it no longer started on Mondays but on Wednesdays and all other days were "just" leading up to THE day where I could learn new "stuff", show my work and have fun doing it!

The period before Christmas is my favorite. All the anticipation, the preparations... it's Christmas music playing everywhere, my whole house smells of cinnamon, cranberries, and citrus fruits, and it's cold, oh-so-cold with a bright sun...just the best!

Both my girls have their birthdays in August (along with my husband, mom, cousin, nephew, father in law and there are name days and anniversaries too in August! It's a celebration packed month!) but we're usually away for vacation during that time.

Unfortunately too many things went wrong for me to keep my promise and deliver a post just around Easter time but my Godchildren had to have their Easter candle so I went with colored candle, burlap, dried orange slice, cinnamon stick, real chocolate, ribbons and snuck in a bookmark also.

The best friend of my little daughter (and when I say best friend I mean they are joined by the hip!) celebrated her 13th birthday. I made her a word-art card using my Cameo and a cupcake box from Svgcuts' Happy Birthday kit.

December is just around the corner which brings the culmination of the holiday season into focus. Store windows are decked with Christmas decorations, pastry shops fill the air with scents of seasonal sweets, the weather seems to catch up to its norm (in Athens/Greece the weather was uncharacteristically mild for November), radio stations have Christmas songs on a loop and full-force preparations are being made in every home.

Christmas crafting for me is always... for lack of better word, personal. Everything I make, I make it with somebody in mind. It's not the case this time around.
I was browsing Pinterest for new ideas and tho card making is not my forte I was mesmerized by designs, colours and versatility. I've found greeting cards from oh-so-simple-yet-beautiful, to magnificently layered and complicated, and everything in between.

To round up summer and start the new school year off good (and cos both my girls have name days in September) I baked 6 dozen cupcakes and made with the help of the girls as many not-so-little milk carton treat-holders to house the cupcakes (we needed so many because except schoolmates they treated the teachers and the dance-class too).
